Big Warehouse Sale

Last weekend I went to the Fred Hoskings Warehouse sale in Concord West, NSW. Wow! What a bargain. As a cardmaker I have found that often the most expensive part of the card is the envelope. Well, Fred Hoskings is a commerical printer that makes everything from Wedding stationery to Christmas Cards and every now and then they have a pre-stocktake warehouse sale. I went to one a few years back, but it has very different to this one. Lots more colour and a huge variety available. Below are some pictures of the bounty I scored.

I got all of this for $80.00 Get a look at what they usually RRP some of this stuff for.

Talk about a bargain.

Long time since I have posted anything here, so I thought I'd give you a look at an older page that has been a class at Scrapbook Dreams for a while and now that it is over, I can post it here. . This page was part of the "Girl Talk" course that was run or eigth weeks. There is a corresponding "I love my Poppi" page that was part of the "Boys to Men" course that was run. I will post it up soon. . . The next page is my eldest son, Riley, and his official day care photos from 2005... I know, I know, I can here you all crying "It's 2008!!!". I never said I was a fast scrapbooker. This page was one that Debbie taught in the Cricut Club at Scrapbook Dreams. Once a month on a Saturday afternoon, Cricut Club meet and have lots of fun. Interested???? Call Debbie on 02-9607 3943 to book a place for the May one. . . Plans for the construction of our pool are currently going through council, so I will be keeping you all posted with the good, the bad and the ugly of swimming pool construction as well as lots of pictures. . Have a great day! .

Family Reunion & Baby Card

I was inspired by Lauren Meader to make this cute little baby onesie card. I have made it for a family friend who just had her third baby boy. I hope she likes it.

Saturday was the big family get-together/reunion. Below is the official group portrait taken on the day, but if you would like to see all the photos taken on the day then you will need to skip over to my Photobucket. I gave my point-n-shoot digital camera to my six year old cousin to take photos throughout the day. He's not half bad. A quick lesson on how the camera worked and off he went. Kids these days just know it all!!!

I hope the Easter Bunny was good to you all! I know he was good to my waist line cause I only got one (1) egg.... at least I know my mummy still loves me.

Enjoy

What have I been doing???

Well, I have been a busy girl. I have been working really hard on some wedding stationery for a client and also making the bombonierrie boxes for her. I haven' done any and calligraphy for a while, so I was a little bit sceptical about my ability to do so, but it was like riding a bike... you never really forget it. 187 place cards, all hand written.
The boxes were a different kettle of fish. I had been putting off doing them because I thought they were going to be too hard, but once I get started on them, I flew through them. It only took me about 4 hours to complete them all. About 200 of them in total.

Hopefully I will be posting some new cards over this Easter Long Weekend, and maybe even a few scrapbook pages.

On Thursday, March 27th, at 7:00pm I will be teaching Week 3 of a 4 week Card Making Course at Scrapbook Dreams. This week will be Mother's Day Cards.

Also have an 8 week Ink-n-Stamps course at Scrapbook Dreams on Wednesday nights starting April 23rd. It will be pages NOT cards. They will all be double page spreads. Call the shop on (02) 9607 3943 to book in. Would love to see you there.

We are having a bit a family reunion with relatives from Alice Springs tomorrow. Hoping to take some good pic of all the family including the new generation of kids that Luke & Meaghan seem to be popping out every year or so. Hopefully be able to post some pictures soon.

Have a great Easter. Enjoy the long weekend. Hope the easter bunny is good to you.

Scrap Start Basic: Cards

So, these are the cards I'm teaching at Scrapbook Dreams on Wednesday, March 5th, 2008 as part of the Scrap Start Basic 8 week course. The are very basic, but the students are only 5 weeks into scrapbooking and this is going to be the first cards they have made, so the idea is to keep it basic, teach them techniques that they will be able to utilise in the Intermediate and Advanced courses.
The theme of these cards is flexible, but I have done one as a Mother's Day card and one as a I'm Sorry, So Sorry card which can be used for a few different things... apologise, sympathy, etc.
Hey Rachael, thanks for looking!!!! I know, I know, I'm a little behind. But I'm trying really really hard to catch up.
Thanks for looking.

Jeanette & Paul's Wedding Photos

I've finally had time to upload all of the photos I took at Jeanette and Paul's wedding on February 23rd, 2008 up onto Photobucket.
I really like Photobucket and have decided that I will use it for all event photos so that those people who copies can get them for themselves and not rely on unreliable me to get them a copy.
Also, I'd like to thank my friend Kerryn. Today was also her son, Lachlan, 5th birthday and also her dad 65th bithday. She had a party for Lachlan but also had a special birthday cake for me and one for her dad. Thanx heaps Kerryn.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday to me.

Almost 18 months between posts

Hi All Not that anyone really reads this. Wow! It has been almost 18 months between posts. Now I have got to be the slackest blogger in the world. My mum & dad and aunt & uncle are away skiing in Canada & USA at the moment and my Uncle Bob is blogging every day... without fail. My friend Rachael has also been blogging and even Nicole, one of my co-teachers from Scrapbook Dreams, has started a blog. Can you tell I'm feeling the pressure to start my blog up again? Well, guess what? I give in. Guilt has over run me. I will blog again. Although I doubt if it will be daily, as my life is still as hectic as it was 18 months ago, except now I only have two jobs instead of three. Anyway, I am working on some beautiful stuff at the moment and will post some images over the weekend... I promise. Hey, a big shout out to Rachael... CONGRATULATIONS on entering your first challenge. I still haven't done it yet. I suppose I'm too scared of rejection. Much kudos to you girly!!!! While Bob & Didi are away, Casey (my step-cousin) is living with me. She had her swimming carnival on Thursday. She is Sports House captain for Fraser (named after Dawn Fraser) so we dressed he up appropriately for the event. Enjoy the pictures.
